🙏🏻 Some pointers for a prayer meeting taken from Joshua 18

 1. Praise God that He wants to be in a relationship with His people and dwell among them, and so He has made a way through His Son, the perfect sacrifice offered for us, and who is now present with us.

 2. Rejoice in being able to gather as a church to worship God. As the tabernacle was placed at the centre of the nation, pray that the worship of God would be at the centre of church life.

 3. Give thanks for the victory Jesus has won over all His enemies. As the Israelites were to take the land, ask for the Spirit help in making known Christ's rule and victory over sin and death to the lost in our community and beyond.

 4. Pray that we would not be too satisfied and pleased with our present situation that we give no thought to the future; both our future inheritance and the future fate of those outside of God's people.

 5. God has given us everything for life and godliness and has made to us many precious promises. Pray that we would not grow weary in doing our duty in love, holiness, obedience, and service.

 6. The delay of the Israelites gave time for the defeated Canaanites to regain strength and spirit. Pray that we would not open ourselves up to the attack of enemy, and falling into sin by being complacent in our faith.

 7. As the men surveyed the land God gave to be their inheritance, so our inheritance is described for us in Scripture. Pray that we would think often about our future home in the new heavens and new earth.

 8. Praise God that He places us where He wants us to be, and that this is the right place for us to be.

 9. Benjamin was placed between Joseph (his older brother) and Judah (where the King and Temple would be found). Thank God for our church family who cares for us, and the leaders who faithfully lead us, teach us God's Word, and who encourage us to worship God.
