7 Prayer Pointers for a Prayer Meeting

i) Praise God for His salvation and His work of transformation. James was not always a believer in Jesus, but now he is described as a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God for His work in our lives both rescuing us and making us new creations.

ii) Pray that we would see how privileged we are to be servants of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for a joy in serving God and a willingness to do all that He asks us to.

iii) Thank God that God’s people are found all over the world as disciples of all nations are being made and the gospel continues to bear fruit. Pray for believers who have been forced to leave their homes and countries because of persecution and suffering.

iv) Pray that God would give us the strength of faith to endure persecution if (or when) we experience. Pray that we would not be surprised if we face it, and that we would rely on God through it.

v) Thank God that He uses trials to test and strength our faith and to grow us to be more like His Son, the Lord Jesus. Pray that we would rejoice in them because we know that God is using them to make us into the people He wants us to be.

vi) Praise God that He is the wise God and He will give wisdom to all who turn to Him and ask for it. Pray that we would believe this to be true.

vii) Pray that we would recognise how weak and how foolish we are, and how much we need God’s wisdom. Pray that in all situations and circumstances we would depend upon God’s wisdom and not our own or the wisdom of the world.
