A prayer based on Ezekiel 18.

<aside> πŸ™πŸ» Our great and glorious God and King. Compassionate and gracious; Slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness. We praise You that You are the God who saves all who turn from their sins and trust in Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the One who came into the world to save sinners, and who is the great mediator between God and men. We praise You that You take no pleasure in the death of anyone and that You want all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth; that You are pleading with people to repent and live by sending people out with this message to all the world.

We are so grateful for the beautiful feet that came and brought this good news to us: who taught us Your Word and told us about the danger we were in – that as sinner we were facing Your wrath in hell. who make known to us that there was only one person who could save us – Jesus, the great and powerful Saviour of sinners, who by His life and death and resurrection has done everything necessary for us to be forgiven and have eternal life. and through whom You called us to repent of our sins and trust in Him and be saved. We thank You that when we did that, You gave us a new heart, and put Your Spirit within us, to enable us to live a new life. One marked not by rebellion and rejection of Your Word, but where we are moved to follow Your decrees and are careful to keep Your laws.

Yet Father we confess that this is a struggle for us. We don’t always do what is just and right. We love and cherish other gods before You. We are not pure and holy in our thoughts and attitudes and motives and actions towards others. Forgive us as we pray trusting that the blood of Jesus will cleanse us and purify us of all our sin and unrighteousness.

By Your Holy Spirit, we ask that each moment of each day, You would help us to keep turning away from sin and to strive to live a life that shows we have been saved by Jesus. Give us the boldness we need to warn those who are lost in their sins about the danger they are in, and to speak of the salvation they can enjoy if they would repent and live. And we plead with You to show mercy to them that they would put their trust in You, through Jesus Christ, our Saviour.

Amen.
