We’ve seen lots of clues as to who Jesus is.  We’ve seen him turn water into wine, call people to follow Him, heal a paralytic, forgive sins, calm a storm and feed 5000.  These are all clues at to who He is.

It is now time to see if His disciples know who He is.  One day as He is walking along with them, He asks them the question: “Who do people say I am?”  Their response is to say that some people think he is a prophet, one of God’s messengers like Elijah and John the Baptist.

Jesus then turns and asks them: “Who do you say I am?”  Peter steps up and answered Him: “You are the Christ.” (Mark 8:29)

Peter has seen Jesus heal and teach and all the miracles He has done, and putting all the clues together, concluded that Jesus is the promised King and Saviour, God Himself who has come in person to rescue His people.

But how would He do that?
