Satan’s Strategies – Lying

Can anyone tell me the enemies of these well known characters?

Peter Pan? *[Captain Hook]*

Now the church has an enemy too.  A dangerous enemy that wants to cause her harm.  The enemy of the church is called the devil or Satan.

Satan has lots of different ways he tries to hurt the church, and the apostle Paul says we need to know what these ways are: *“…in order that Satan might not outwit us.  For we are not unaware of his schemes.” (2 Corinthians 2:11)*

The first way Satan tries to cause us harm is by LYING.

Jesus says that Satan “is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

Elsewhere we are told “…that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray.” (Revelation 12:9)

Satan is a liar who wants to lead us astray.

He lies about the church so that people don’t see how wonderful it is to be part of God’s people.

He lies to the church to try and make Christians believe that what God says in the Bible is not true.

And he has done this right from the beginning when he took the form of a serpent to whisper that lie to Eve, saying that if she ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, she would not die.  That was a lie!

We need to pray that we would not believe Satan’s lies and instead believe that every word in the Bible is true.
