Powerpoint Pictures: 3 Where’s Wally scenes

Can you find Wally?  Look at some ‘Where’s Wally?’ pictures and see if you can spot Wally in them.

When Jesus was 12 years old, He went to Jerusalem with His parents to celebrate the Passover.  As Mary and Joseph travelled back home to Nazareth, they discovered that Jesus was missing.  In this situation it was not ‘Where’s Wally?’ but ‘Where’s Jesus?’

“After three days they found [Jesus] in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.” (Luke 2:46)

Jesus loved God and loved to spend time listening to other people talk about Him.  The temple was the place where the people went to learn about God.  The temple for Jesus was like the red/white stripy hat and jumper for Wally.  It should have been the first place Mary and Joseph went looking.

When they found Him there, Jesus asked them a question: “Why were you searching for me?” he asked.  “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house.” (Luke 2:49)

Now what Jesus says is interesting because it says that Jesus knew who He was.  He calls God His Father.  He is the Son of God.  God Himself.

Simon recognised that Jesus was the Saviour of the world.  The Magi recognised that Jesus was the King who will die, and now Jesus recognises that He is the Son of God, God Himself.

Next we see someone appear on the scene to get people ready for Jesus.
