What do Christians do?  What do those who trust in Jesus Christ and are following Him do? *[Read the Bible; Go to church; Talk to people about Jesus; Baptise; Celebrate the Lord’s Supper]*.

What important thing have I missed out?

Have I forgotten something?

Prayer.  Christians pray.

Prayer is something that those who believe in Jesus are expected to do.

Look at what Jesus says.

“But when you pray…” (Matthew 6:6)

“And when you pray…” (Matthew 6:7)

Jesus expects that His followers will do this.

But how are we to pray?  How does Jesus want us to pray?  What prayers please God?  We need to know what prayers God hears and will answer.

Jesus’ first disciples were concerned about these questions.  So they asked Jesus a question: “Lord, teach us to pray.” (Luke 11:1)

Wonderfully Jesus taught them and will teach us.  “Jesus said to them, “When you pray, say…” (Luke 11:2)

If you want to know how to pray, you need to listen to and learn from Jesus – and that is what we are going to be doing.
