For the last 10 or more years, we've been putting on a 2-day Holiday Bible Club at Banstead Community Church during the  February half-term holiday.

The format of each day is the same but the theme and associated activities change every year.  Below is the plan for each day, and then some ideas for different parts of the day arranged by theme.


# Daily Schedule

**Session 1 (10-11am):** *Mini games and crafts based around the Holiday Bible Club theme.*

**Session 2 (11-12pm):** *Welcome, game or skit based on theme, singing, Bible teaching, followed by refreshment break.*

**Session 3 (12-1pm):** *Memory verse, Bible game and craft to reinforce the teaching, followed by lunch.*

**Session 4 (1-2.30pm):** *Variety of activities - crafts, cake/biscuit decorating, peppermint creams, popcorn, doughnuts, games, bouncy castle assault course.*

**Session 5 (2.30-3pm):** *Recap the day with game or skit based on theme, and quiz based on the Bible teaching.*

Theme & Bible Teaching

Wacky Races - using the Wacky Races TV show as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children that Peter and John rushed to the tomb to discover whether Jesus is alive [Talk 1 - John 20:1-9], and then how two disciples rushed to talk to others when they discovered that Jesus is alive [Talk 2 - Luke 24:13-35].

Jungle Safari - using animals as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children about sin [Talk 1 - Genesis 3] and the Saviour [Talk 2 - Genesis 3:15].

All the Fun of the Fair - using the fun fair and the circus as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children that Jesus is God by looking at two of His miracles [Talk 1 - Mark 2:1-12; Talk 2 - Mark 4:35-41].

Space Academy - using space and related books/films etc as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children that Jesus has ascended to heaven [Talk 1 - Acts 1:9-11] but will one day return and separate people into two groups [Talk 2 - Acts 1:11].

Secret Agents - using spies and secret agents as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children that Jesus' body had gone from the tomb because He had risen from the dead from Luke 24:1-8 [Talk 1 - What didn't happen to Jesus' body; Talk 2 - What did happen to Jesus' body].

Pirates - using pirates and the seaside as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children that...

Champions - using the Olympics and Sport as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children that...

Superheroes - using superheroes as a theme, this Holiday Bible Club teaches the children that Jesus is the perfect Saviour we need by looking at two saviours from Judges who weren't perfect [Talk 1 - Ehud; Talk 2 - Samson].
