Titus 3:6-7

v6: How does God give us His Spirit? "Plentifully; he is not limited toward us." He gives "not with a stingy hand, but very freely." He pours out His Spirit through Jesus Christ. "Everything comes through him, and through him as Saviour." Therefore, "let us praise God for him" and "let us go to the Father through him" asking Him to pour out His Spirit on us.

v7: "How much strength, comfort, and encouragement" are found in these words. "Eternal life is set before us... and the Spirit produces in us faith and the hope of that life, and in this way we are made heirs of it and have a kind of possession of it even now." But without justification, the accepting of sinners "as righteous through the righteousness of Christ received by faith," this hope would not be ours, because without justification "there can be no adoption and sonship and so no right of inheritance."
