Mark 14:1-52

v1-11: We honour Christ as our Beloved with love for Him and as our Sovereign with allegiance to Him. "Do we give him the precious ointment of our best devotion? …If he poured out his soul to death for us, shall we think any jar of ointment too precious to pour out on him?"

v12-31: "How encouraging this is to poor repentant sinners, that the blood of Christ is shed for many! Moreover, if for many, then why not for me? If for sinners, sinners of the Gentiles, the chief of sinners, then why not for me?” May all that Jesus achieved by His death, continue to strengthen, nourish, and refresh you.

v32-42: "As he had the greatest love for God, who was offended by those sins, and had the greatest love for human beings, who were damaged and endangered by them, now that those were set out before him, it is hardly surprising that his soul was exceeding sorrowful.” Jesus knew the evil of the sin He was about to suffer for and that was why He was in such anguish. If that is how Christ felt about our sin, should we feel any differently?

v43-52: The suffering that Jesus felt in His soul, in order to make atonement for sin, would now be felt in His body as He is betrayed and arrested.
