Judges 3

v7-11: "Those who in happy times had cried out to the Baals and the Asherahs were now in trouble and so cried out to the Lord." Suffering "made them cry out and beg God for help, whereas before they would hardly speak to him." Too often we are no different.

v12-30: "Eighty years was a long time for the land to enjoy peace, but what is that in comparison with the saints’ everlasting rest in the heavenly Canaan?"

v31: "God can use those with a lowly or obscure background or education for his service and glory and for the church's good." He who made Shamgar into a judge, and later turned "fishermen into apostles," can use you.
