Judges 14

v1-9: It was “weak and foolish of [Samson] to set his affections on a daughter of the Philistines,” because of the danger of being led astray to idol worship, and his parents were right to persuade him from marrying her. But God “overruled… to serve his purposes against the Philistines.” That God is able to used His people’s weakness and sinfulness, does not mean we should follow Samson’s example here.

v10-20: “It would be good for us if the unkind acts and disappointment we meet with from the world had the good effect on us of making us return to our heavenly Father’s house with faith.” Every difficulty we face in this life “should make us love [our true] home [in heaven] and long to be there.”
