Judges 10

v1-5: Israel needed to be saved from the corruption of Abimelech’s evil ways, and the trouble from enemies this had brought on them. God appointed Tola “in order to reform the abuses, put down the idolatry, pacify the turmoil, and heal the wounds caused by Abimelech’s usurping.” God saved them from themselves and from their enemies, as He has us, through Jesus Christ.

v6-9: You cannot serve and worship God and something else. Those who do "will soon come to completely abandon God," because "if God does not have all the heart, he will soon have none of it."

v10-18: True repentance is not only "for sin," confessing sins of omission, for this is where sin begins, "We have abandoned our God" and sins of commission, "We have served the Baals"; but also "from sin," returning to the God whom we have offended.
