Deuteronomy 4

v1-40: To stir us up to committing ourselves more deeply to our duties, which include giving “diligent attention to the word of God”, keeping “God’s commandments”, being “aware of the sin of idolatry”, passing “on the knowledge and worship of God to future generations”, we should review the way God has in His providence, faithfully cared for us and led us in our lives.

v41-49: Having encouraged the people of Israel to obedience, Moses now repeats “the Law that they were to observe,” for, “how can we do our duty if we do not know it?”
