2 Thessalonians 3:3-5

v3: We need God to strengthen us because “unless he holds us to his paths, our feet will slide and we will fall” and we need Him to protect us from “the evil that is in the world, indeed, from all evil,” until we reach heaven.  We can be sure that He will, because He is faithful to all His promises.  “He is the Lord who cannot lie” and “He will not alter the thing that he has spoken.  Once he has made a promise… its fulfilment is sure and certain.”

v4: Any confidence we have that we will both do and continue to do what is commanded of us in Scripture is found in God.  Keeping His commandment and doing those things that are pleasing in His sight is one thing we can sure that if we ask of God, He will delight to answer.

v5: Let us pray for one another that we would have true love for God, “for our love tends to go astray after other things all too easily,” and that we would follow Christ’s example by patiently enduring trials, hardships, and persecutions, while we wait for Him to come again in glory.
