2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

v11: The return of Christ "should make us pray to God for ourselves and others."  But "unless God instructs us, we do not know what to pray for, just as without God's help we will not pray in the right way." Here we learn that we should pray for God to "continue the good work" that He has begun in us so that we live "lives that are worthy" or "consistent with" our calling as those whose home is in heaven and do the good works He has prepared for us to do.

v12: We pray for these things so "that Christ may be glorified in and by us, and then we will be glorified in and with him."
