2 Peter 3:1-2

v1: Pastors and elders, by their life and conduct, are to be examples for us. They are also to be “examples of love and affection.” One way they show their love is by regularly reminding us of the truths of God’s Word.

v2: “What God has spoken through the prophets of the Old Testament and what Christ has commanded through the apostles of the New deserves and calls to be frequently remembered.” These are the words that will stir us up to actively “pursuing the work of holiness,” and to “be zealous and tireless on [our] way to heaven.”
