2 Peter 2:7-10a

v7-8: However used, we may be, to hearing and seeing the sins of others, should not stop us from being grieved by them, for sin should be “a trouble and torment to the soul of the righteous.” We cannot “keep ourselves pure” and “walk uprightly” if we are taking pleasure in sin. Pray that the Holy Spirit would help you to constantly see the wickedness and sinfulness of sin.

v9-10a: God is never at a loss about how to rescue His people in order “to prevent their falling into sin and their being ruined by their troubles.” He has both the wisdom “to devise the way,” and the power “to work out the rescue out of temptation.”
