2 Peter 1:10-11

v10: How can we know if we have been chosen for salvation? After all, “no one can look into the book of God’s eternal purposes and decrees.” If we can be sure that “we have been effectively called, we may conclude we have been chosen,” for those God predestined, he also called. “A very close examination of ourselves, an accurate search and strict inquiry,” as to “whether we have been thoroughly converted, our minds enlightened, our wills renewed, and our whole souls changed as to their inclination,” can make us sure of our calling and our election.

v11: “Those who are growing in grace and abounding in the work of the Lord,” can be certain of their election and calling, and that they will enter “into the joy of their Lord… that eternal kingdom where Christ reigns, and they will reign with him for ever and ever.”
