1 Peter 1:22-25

v22-23: “Many people hear the truth but are never purified by it because they will not submit to it nor obey it.” It is as we diligently seek to put into practice what we read in the Word of God, that the Spirit works to convict us of where impurities lie, and to stir in us obedience to His commands. “The word of God is the great instrument of a sinner’s purification,” and “the Spirit of God is the great agent in the purification of the human soul.”

v24-25: Even when we appear to be flourishing, we “are still withering, fading, and dying creatures.” The only way for us to “become solid and imperishable is to receive the word of God, for this remains eternal truth, and if received, it will preserve [us] to eternal life and remain with [us] forever.”
