1 Corinthians 9

v1-14: Just as those who give themselves to any form of employment in the world would expect to earn their living from it, it is not unreasonable for pastors to earn a livelihood from their labours.  "Those who enjoy spiritual benefits from the ministry of the world should not begrudge supporting those who are employed in this work."

v15-18: Those who have been "set apart for the ministry are commissioned to preach the Gospel."  It should grieve us that there are some who have been set apart who don't.

v19-23: Providing that we are not sinning against God, we should be willing to put aside those things that are a barrier to lost people hearing the gospel.

v24-27: Even though others may win their prize before them, every Christian who keeps on running the race marked out for them will win the prize.
