Hosea 6:1-3 says:
“Come, let’s return to the Lord. For he has torn us, and he will heal us; he has wounded us, and he will bind up our wounds. He will revive us after two days, and on the third day he will raise us up so we can live in his presence. Let’s strive to know the Lord.”
Has this last week been a difficult week for you?
May be you feel like you’ve been torn, wounded.
You’ve experienced pain, difficulty, discouragement, heartache.
It’s part of your life because of God’s rule over your life.
But know this.
He has a purpose for it.
It’s so that He will heal us, bind up our wounds, revive, and raise us up so we can live in his presence.
And this will one day happen - when our hope is realised - and we enter our heavenly home.
But we can experience, we can know some of this healing, this binding up of our wounds, this reviving, this raising up, in part now.
That’s the whole point of this service.
It’s for us to receive comfort from the Lord Jesus Christ as we gather in His Name to worship God.
As we sing his praise, as we draw near to Him in prayer, as we hear His Word read and preached, He wants us to:
Find rest if we are weary.
Find healing if we are torn.
Find peace if we are frustrated.
Find salvation and forgiveness for our sins.
The Lord Jesus Christ loves you and laid down his life for you.
Let’s receive that love afresh today.
