The Apostles’ Creed (Part 3) – …in God…

The Apostles’ Creed is a great summary of what the Bible teaches.

In just over 100 words, it gives us all the key truths that Christians are to believe.

Now what does the Creed say Christians believe?

It begins by saying, “I believe in God.”

<aside> 💡 But many people believe in God who are not Christians. People all around the world believe in lots of different gods. There are lots of different religions.

Christians don’t believe in God in general.

They believe that a specific God exists.

“Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

They trust in a particular God.

A God who has made Himself known.

A God who has made Himself known in the Bible.

A God who has made Himself known as being One and yet Three.

Three persons - the Father, the Son, the Spirit - in one God.

And this makes the God who Christians believe in different from all the other ‘gods’ that other people follow and trust in.

What this means?

If you are a Christian - you believe that God is three persons - who are fully God.

If the God you follow, trust in is not Trinity - Father, Son, Holy Spirit - the God you worship is not the God of the Bible and the only God who can save.
