A short talk for a Catechesis slot in a church service.

In the Bible we are told that there are two ways to live, and it uses those opposites to describe them.

There is a way to live that is: Righteous, Light, Straight, and Good.

This way leads to life, to heaven itself.

There is also a way that is: Wicked, Crooked, Evil, and Darkness.

This way leads to death, to hell.

📖 Jesus spoke about these two ways to live in Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.”

By nature everyone is on the wide road that leads to death or destruction.

But when we trust in Jesus and commit to following Him we switch paths and join the way of life.

We need to know what this way of life is like, what it means to follow Jesus, because as someone’s said:

💬 “There are two ways, one of life and one of death! and there is a great difference between the two ways.”

We’re told about what the way that leads to life is like in God’s Word.

📖 In Psalm 1:1-2 we read: ”How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.”

This is why we need to spend time in God’s Word and hear about this way - a way that Jesus took - and how to follow Him on it.
